This end cap for the boom of a sailboat was no longer available as a spare part. We created a replacement.
Digital Preparation: After the 3D scan, we smoothed the model in CAD and digitally removed wear marks to create a clean 1:1 copy.
The guide rail was broken and spare parts had long been discontinued. We reproduced the part so the cabinet could be preserved.
Digital Repair: We scanned the defective sample. Then we 3D-modeled the missing areas and post-processed in CAD to restore the original shape.
The locking mechanism of the rack was broken and no longer available as an individual part from the manufacturer. We reverse-engineered a replacement.
Digital Repair: Since the original had broken-off fragments, we had to re-model the missing areas in 3D and post-process the model in CAD.
The original cover was a fragile construction of three screwed-together individual parts. We changed that!
